Korean Pan Fried Tofu (두부부침)

This is a popular Korean side dish that is super easy and fast. When you are serving a Korean feast, this would elevate your dinner menu instantly. You won’t believe how easy this recipe is! Also, Ryan and I love tofu, so I’m always looking for different ways to incorporate tofu into our meals.


Ingredients (Approx. 3-4 servings)

1 firm tofu

1 egg

1 tablespoon of vegetable oil

5 tablespoons of soy sauce

1 teaspoon of sesame

1 teaspoon of Korean chili powder

1 teaspoon of sesame oil

1 tablespoon of chopped green onion


Instructions

  1. Beat 1 egg in a small bowl using a fork until the yolk and egg whites are mixed.

  2. Cut the tofu into 14-16 rectangle/square pieces.

  3. Add 1 tablespoon of vegetable oil in a heated pan.

  4. Dip each tofu piece into the egg mixture and place them in the heated pan. Make sure the tofu pieces are evenly coated with the egg mixture.

  5. Cook the tofu pieces until each side is golden brown. This should take approximately 2-3 minutes on each side on medium to high heat.

  6. Add rest of the ingredients into a small bowl and mix well. This is your sauce!

  7. Serve and Enjoy!
